If you gasped when you saw the release of the original GIVENCHY Le Rouge Perfecto, buckle up. This spring, we see 8 new shades join the couture collection under the name of Le Rose Perfecto; a lip colour with the pigmentation of a lipstick but the caring properties of a lip balm.
There’s no denying that Rose Perfecto is possibly one of if not the most luxurious lip balms available. The idea that you no longer have to compromise on comfort or colour, while looking incredibly chic during application is what makes Rose Perfecto stand out from the crowd. I mean, look at the pink leather sheath and stud detail; what lipstick lover do you know that wouldn’t want to own one of these? Let’s find out if the formula lives up to its beautiful packaging…
Unlike the original Le Rouge Perfecto, the new Rose Perfectos aren’t colour adapting; they’re all about dressing your lips in bold, vibrant shades. As soon as you apply Le Rose, you can instantly feel how its lightweight texture resembles that of a balm, but its pigment-rich formula is a strong rival to all sheer-to-medium coverage lipsticks on the market.
Le Rose Perfecto prides itself more on its nourishing and plumping abilities. Do you know how some lip balms can make your feel drier? After 4 hours of wearing the shade Glazed Beige, I can confirm my lips felt supple and soft, which is all down to the combination of hyaluronic acid spheres and shea butter. I’m also a big fan of the tingly feeling that some lip colours give off after you apply, as that’s when you know the plumping is working. GIVENCHY Rose Perfecto does precisely that with the added benefit of pink pepper extract, which protects and preserves your lips throughout the day. They’re so versatile; you can choose to wear each shade alone or apply them as a primer for a smooth base.
Le Rose Perfecto 000 White Shield
GIVENCHY describe this shade as pearly white, but I’d say it looks more like a clear gloss on the lips. Not flat in the slightest, it’s woven with fine blue glitter pigments which make your teeth look extra white too. Here, I’ve worn White Shield alone, but I know this would look beautiful layered over the top of any lipstick to give a plumped, 3D finish.

Le Rose Perfecto 101 Glazed Beige
Glazed Beige is my favourite shade of all, as I’m a sucker for a nude that makes me look polished. More of a peachy nude, than a barely-there lip, 101 would add life back into anyone’s complexion. It’s got a warm, understated hue that’s a complete fail-safe for anyone wary of bold colours.

Le Rose Perfecto 201 Timeless Pink
If you like your pinks to look pretty, you’ve met your match with this colour Timeless Pink by name and nature, this soft but vivacious colour will add a subtle pop of colour to a fresh-faced complexion, or a bronze smokey eye.

Le Rose Perfecto 202 Fearless Pink
When it comes to the range of pinks in this collection, Fearless Pink is the boldest of the pack. Fitted with a blue undertone and a bright colour payoff, 202 will make your lips your most noticeable feature – even when worn with just a lick of mascara and a complementing blusher, like GIVENCHY’s Prisme Blush in Tender.

Le Rose Perfecto 301 Soothing Red
Bright lipsticks can be loud, but not Soothing Red. As soon as I tried on 301, its cherry-red hue made me feel super confident (while looking like I spent a lot longer on makeup). I love how versatile it is. Depending on your mood, you can go subtle or bold with your layering, which makes it pretty timeless season, after season.

Le Rose Perfecto 302 Solar Red
I’m not sure why this shade is called Solar Red, to me, 302 looks way more of a coral-orange than a crimson colour. I’m not mad though. I do love this shade, and it’s in keeping with the 2019 Pantone colour of the year too. Team it with glowy skin and a dusting of your favourite bronzer.

Le Rose Perfecto 303 Warming Red
On my skin tone, Warming Red is way cooler than you’d expect. When compared to Soothing Red, you can see 303’s raspberry undertone pop. For a bold lip, Warming Red is effortless to wear, as you don’t have to apply it correctly to achieve a put together look in seconds.

Le Rose Perfecto 304 Cosmic Plum
304 Cosmic Plum is a shade that makes wearing deep magenta lipsticks possible. Similar to 000 White Shield, this glamorous plum shade is intertwined with a subtle pink shimmer that instantly catches the light – it’s gorgeous on the lips when worn alone or as a top coat!
