Lymphatic Drainage At Home: The Body

Lymphatic drainage body: Caudalie Vinosculpt Lift & Firm Body Cream

Lymphatic drainage for the body is a type of massage that you can receive from your beauty therapist but with that not readily available at the moment, one option is the DIY approach. Of course, a massage done by yourself isn’t quite as relaxing, but the results are still pretty impressive. Incorporating effects such as tension relief, smoothed cellulite, contoured limbs and added energy – it’s something that everyone can benefit from and should try.

What is lymphatic drainage?

Lymphatic drainage is a massage treatment that beauty therapists use to encourage trapped fluid that may cause puffiness or water retention in the body. Although it’s a treatment typically given in spas or by a professional, it can be recreated at home.

Lack of muscle movement or laying flat while you sleep can cause fluid to become trapped in your tissue on your body or face and can leave you feeling puffy. Using a selection of massage techniques and formulas you can manually stimulate the circulation of fluid, encouraging your lymphatic system to release toxins and tension in the body or face.

What are the benefits of lymphatic drainage for the body?

If you want a smoother and firmer body this is an excellent way to achieve it. The aesthetic benefits include contoured limbs, reduced puffiness, smoothed cellulite and healthier skin due to increased blood circulation. Internally, your body is said to increase immunity thanks to reduced levels of toxins, you’ll get a weightless feel and renewed feeling of energy after the treatment. Not to mention, it will contribute to your overall well-being, leaving you feeling relaxed and muscle tension eased.

Skincare Influencer @Emmahoareau describes the benefits that she has personally experienced saying that she’s found “that Lymphatic drainage body treatments and at-home techniques help with excess water weight, circulation and overall skin health. At home, I use a dry brush every morning – with long sweeps always towards the heart – to get everything moving. It’s also a great way to wake you up!”
