Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Review: Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Natural Spray and Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Revitalising Silky Body Cream

The time has come. I can finally reveal the much-anticipated fourth addition to the Clarins fragrance collection: Eau Extraordinaire. The treatment fragrance (and its scented body cream) brings together over 70 years of aromatherapy expertise, skincare benefits and a highly natural fruity-floral aroma. Read on to have all of your questions on the Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Natural Spray answered…

This Fragrance Smells Like…

A universally appealing fragrance, the 95% natural origin Eau Extraordinaire brings together a range of naturally occurring notes to create a sense of vibrancy and energy. The mood-boosting treatment fragrance is built around essential oils; bright, uplifting and sparkling citrus notes are paired with a warming, invigorating touch of red ginger, balanced by delicately sweet, floral jasmine and rose oils on a soothing, comforting bed of cedarwood and patchouli.

The fragrance smells fresh and uplifting at first as zesty citrus and energising ginger tingle the senses. Still, it soon settles into a more subtle tone with a comforting, inviting presence.

What’s The Story Behind This Scent?

The Eau Extraordinaire Natural Spray joins the Clarins fragrance family to offer a perfume that boosts your mood and cares for your skin at the same time. The lightweight spray revives your inner strength whilst reawakening your senses. With the power of essential oils, the fragrance helps to hydrate and invigorate your skin. While its blend of aromatic essential oils softens the skin, the formula also stimulates, smooths and enhances the skin’s radiance using added acerola seed extract and kalanchoe. Leaf of life extract works similarly to hyaluronic acid by locking in water to avoid skin dehydration.

But that’s not all; the signature scent also laces a luxurious body cream, which helps to enhance and prolong the aroma whilst continuing to nourish and protect your skin.

You Will Love This If…

If you love fragrance but want more from your signature scent, you’ll love Eau Extraordinaire Natural Spray. Yes, it’s a perfume, but it’s also more.

This Perfume Smells Similar To:

The Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Natural Spray is an aromatherapy treatment fragrance; as soon as you breathe it, you feel uplifted and refreshed. It reminds me of being at the spa!

But I know what many of you are thinking: how does Eau Extraordinaire compare to the other Clarins fragrances? It certainly has more of a delicate floral edge than any of its predecessors (but it’s not an overpoweringly heady floral fragrance, so it would appeal to those who don’t typically choose floral signature scents).

Eau Extraordinaire has a vibrant, subtly spiced start thanks to its ginger note and a more floral heart, but it still borrows specific notes from Clarins’ existing treatment fragrances. It features Eau Dynamisante’s earthy patchouli tones, Eau des Jardins’s sparkling citrus side and calming patchouli-cedarwood base, and Eau Ressourçante’s cedar facet while adding a pretty floral edge to stand out in its own right. In terms of its note structure, it’s closest to Eau des Jardins, so you’ll want to give Eau Extraordinaire a go if you’re a fan of this classic.

Is Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Unisex?

Yes! Eau Extraordinaire is a unisex fragrance; it’s been created to appeal to all genders and all ages.

What’s The Longevity Like?

I applied one spritz of Clarins Eau Extraordinaire to my wrist and then patted the fragrance between each wrist. Although I didn’t use much, I could still make the scent out on my wrists at least six or seven hours later. It’s also easy to build up the fragrance, especially when paired with the luxurious, lightweight scented body cream. But as it has aromatherapy benefits, it’s quite nice to spritz throughout the day to revive and refresh your senses.

What’s Special About The Design?

You’d be forgiven for looking at the Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Natural Spray and thinking it’s body oil. At first glance, it has quite a streamlined design that recalls the body oil treatments in the Clarins Aroma collection, especially due to its yellow-tinted bottle. But there’s beauty in simplicity; the fragrance catches the light beautifully, throwing golden shapes onto the surface it’s sitting on. The bottle has a golden spray top for quick and targeted application.

The accompanying body cream is held in a smooth olive green tube that ties into the Eau Extraordinaire collection, while offering an easy-to-use design for quick, mess-free application.

Values?

The Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Natural Spray fragrance is held in a cardboard box that you can open up to reveal even more about the perfume; this reveals that the fragrance features a 95% natural origin formula, which includes the alcohol used. The carton is made of cardboard sourced from sustainably-managed forests, while the completely recyclable glass bottle is made of 40% recycled glass.
