Clarins Multi-Active Emulsion Review

Clarins Multi-Active Emulsion All Skin Types Review

As someone in my thirties, I gravitate towards anything with ‘glow-boosting and ‘line smoothing’ on its front. The Clarins Multi-Active Emulsion has both. It’s part of the best-selling Multi-Active range that’s recently undergone a relaunch. If you’re an existing fan of the rejuvenating range, you’ll be pleased to know that the formula has been upgraded. Think more innovation and a new look. I recently put it to the test – find my first impressions below…

You Will Love The Multi-Active Emulsion If…

It’s a lightweight moisturiser for all skin types. That said, its fresh texture and added cassava root extract, which is an ingredient known to mattify the skin, make it the ideal choice for anyone who wants to combat shine. Multi-Active is made for busy 30-somethings with stressful lives; its innovative formula helps counteract the effects stress has on the skin, including premature ageing.

If you’re unsure if your skin is showing signs of stress ageing, here are signs to look out for:

• Enlarged pores

• Uneven skin tone

• Dullness

• Fine lines and wrinkles

• Dehydration

• Hollow features

What Does It Do?

The emulsion counteracts the effect stress has on the skin. It smooths fine lines and wrinkles, helping your skin to look more youthful. Plus it boosts radiance, refines skin texture and improves hydration.

The formula also helps to calm your mind – it contains an aroma that’s clinically proven to reduce stress by 20%, so its stress-relieving effects aren’t just for your skin!

How Does It Do It?

With 93% natural ingredients and anti-ageing innovation. A Skin Charger Complex with 2% niacinamide and organic sea holly extract boosts collagen synthesis, smoothes fine lines, improves skin texture and reinforces the skin’s resistance, helping to protect against the first signs of ageing. Teasel extract improves dullness, while strawberry tree extract minimises pores.

What Does It Smell And Feel Like?

It has a light cream texture – the lightest of all Multi-Active moisturisers. It feels fresh on the skin and absorbs quickly. Clarins collaborated with a Japanese perfume house with
expertise in neurosciences (Takasago) on the formula’s mood-enhancing scent. Clarins Laboratories incorporated relaxing molecules and created exclusive olfactory accords in the Multi-Active range that are clinically proven to reduce stress by 20%.

Best Place and Time To Use It?

The moisturiser can be used morning and night. It should be applied as the final step in your skincare routine.

Multi-Active Emulsion Design and Aesthetic Is Special Because…

It comes in a glass bottle with a pump and reflective rose gold lid.

Sustainability and Values…

The Multi-Active Day Cream’s cardboard packaging is printed on paper from sustainably managed forests.

My Overall Experience

The fine lines on my forehead looked smoother after I applied the Clarins Multi-Active Emulsion, and my slight shine was reduced – if you have oily skin, I think you’ll love this. I have quite dry skin so it wasn’t rich enough for my skin. That said, I think this would be a wonderful option for summertime when you don’t want anything too rich or heavy.
