For 2024, Erborian have answered our full coverage prayers and dropped their Super BB Concealer. This means Super BB Fans can get more coverage and fewer breakouts with the new niacinamide-infused concealer.
As well as giving you more confidence hiding any spots, it refines skin, minimises pores and dark spots, which is great for the under eye area, too.
What is Super BB?
Super BB started as THE Korean bb cream for anyone who likes the idea of bb creams, but never found they gave enough coverage. Think IT Cosmetics CC Cream, but with more coverage and more skin refining benefits.
Super BB cream is my guilt-free way of getting more coverage with a more skin-friendly formula; there’s nothing quite like it. I can’t believe the coverage it gives, how well it lasts and how good I feel knowing it’s refining and clearing my skin as I wear it. It’s also a mineral-based SPF 20.
Super BB was made with imperfections in mind as it works externally to camouflage areas you want to hide, and then internally to smooth, fade rid of dark circles, spots and dark spots over time. It’s clinically proven. So now you get all these benefits in a concealer format for extra non-cakey coverage. Note: the concealer is SPF 25 and uses 100% mineral filters.

What kind of concealer is it?
Finish:
Super BB has a natural finish. It doesn’t dry to a powder finish or have a radiance or glowiness to it. It mimics your skin as best as it can.
Coverage:
Super BB concealer has a medium-to-full coverage, applying it once, you get medium and applying it twice, you get full. I like the fact it’s customisable.
Formula
It’s creamy so it doesn’t settle into crows feet; it feels lightweight and less drying than most full coverage concealers; this is because it’s packed with skincare, and 5% niacinamide to reduce dark spots, dark circles and imperfections.
Skin Type
As this concealer targets blemishes, normal to combination skin types would be my default recommendation. But seriously, anyone can get spots, and any skin type can use it. The most important way to look at it is if you want a skin-caring concealer clinically proven to help fade imperfections and give you buildable coverage, this is your match.
What shade will suit me?
You may look at the shade range and think, there’s not enough, but a hidden benefit of Super BB is it’s colour-adapting abilities, each shade captures 5 shades within its colourway. For example: Clair covers +/- 5 shades of the fair skin spectrum.
Clair is for fair skin
Nude is for light skin
Dore is for medium skin
Caramel is for medium to dark skin
Chocolate is for dark skin
How do I use it?
Fans of the Super BB base will want to use them together, and you absolutely can for the ultimate coverage. You can use this on imperfections and under eyes to target areas: dark circles, blemishes, redness, pigmentation marks, etc.
For maximum coverage, apply the concealer first, and blend by patting gently with your finger, a makeup brush or a sponge – whichever you prefer. Then apply the Super BB cream over the top. Layer the concealer on top if needed.
For optimal results to conceal dark circles and achieve the perfect finish, blend outwards from the inner corners of the eyes.
I found the applicator helpful for targeted coverage, however, for hygiene reasons, it’s best to apply the concealer to a brush or your fingers instead of using it on spots transferring bacteria back and forth.
My experience
It was so refreshing to wear a full coverage concealer that didn’t standout or draw attention to my imperfections. Its coverage is way more natural than I expected and it lasted well. My shade is Clair and I was surprised how it brightened up my eye area and camouflaged discolouration without looking too light, it blended well and I saw the colour-adapting benefits first hand.
I tried using only this concealer one day and I still felt pretty confident. It’s perfect for low-maintenance days. I also doubled up my Super BB with the base and concealer too and loved how everything looked more flawless and even.
Tip: Powder your face after 2-5 minutes after applying the Super BB cream to make it last longer.
FAQS
How long will it last before I need to reapply?
Erborian say the formula lasts up to 12 hours; however, from my experience with oily and dry patches, I found it lasted around 8 hours, which is still impressive.
Is the formula vegan?
Super BB Concealer is vegan, dermatology tested, and clinically proven to fade imperfections over time.
Will niacinamide make my under eyes sensitive?
It shouldn’t do. I haven’t experienced that, and I’ve been using it consistently for two weeks.
