Choosing a Halloween costume can be just as much of a horror story as the holiday itself. Between looking ‘good’ and being original it can be a nightmare trying to nail October 31st. But fear not, because I’ve created a Halloween makeup look that is both glamorous and deathly seductive.

Whether you’re channelling a killer femme fatale or looking for vengeance as a devil, you can pair this sensuous look with whatever last minute outfit you choose – and it’ll only take you 15 minutes if you’re quick!

The Base

Step 1: Every femme fatale has flawless skin, so creating a perfected base is crucial. For this look, I used the MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer Radiant Primer in Peach to add luminosity to my complexion. Packed full of Spectraflex pigments, this colour-correcting formula instantly perks up skin – no ghostly complexions here!

Step 2: Next, it’s time for foundation and I couldn’t have chosen anything other than the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD – Invisible Cover Stick Foundation (shade Y215). Thanks to its full coverage finish, this creamy, easy to blend formula works miracles on the skin, for an almost airbrushed result. Apply directly to skin from the stick, then blend out with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Foundation Brush – Large – 108.

Step 3: To achieve the wide-eyed look that every glamorous gothic woman has, use the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Concealer. I chose shade Y23 – Ivory to give my under-eyes a boost of vitality. Blend the formula out with fingers to create a full coverage, smooth finish that screams flawless.

Step 4: To complete the base, dust the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder all over. This cult-favourite powder will set your makeup in place and also help to blur imperfections on camera so that unexpected photos are never a next day horror story.

The Contour & Highlight

Step 5: For this look, I contoured and highlighted my heart out. I chose the shade S118 – Dark Shadow from the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Face Color – Neutral Sculpting Shades collection to define my cheekbones and give me a super sculpted result. Then, I highlighted the tops of my cheekbones, brow bone and cupid’s bow with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Light Fusion – Undetectable Luminizer in shade 2 – Golden, this ethereal illuminator gives an almost supernatural glow to the skin that’s perfectly suited to a femme fatale.

The Eyes

Step 6: Before we get started on the eyeliner, prime the eyes with the MAKE UP FOR EVER XL Color Paint in Iridescent Copper Gold. This shimmering bronze cream eyeshadow will not only improve the longevity of your eye look but also gives your eyes a more even, lustruous look.

Step 7: Now it’s the fun part: the winged liner! I chose my holy grail MAKE UP FOR EVER Graphic Liner Vinyl Pen Eyeliner in Bright Black to create to this look as it has a jet-black formula and felt tip nib that makes eyeliner quick and easy.

Step 8: To complete the look, coat your lashes with some mascara. The MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Extravagant Mascara is an excellent pick for adding volume and acts as the perfect base for your false lashes. Once dried, apply false lashes to add intensity to your look. My go-to lashes are the MAKE UP FOR EVER Lash Show Natural Impact False Lashes N-403; with flirty outer corners, these comfortable lashes pair beautifully with a winged liner look.

Tip: Use the MAKE UP FOR EVER Graphic Liner Vinyl Pen Eyeliner to create a fake beauty spot on your cheek for a touch of glamour.

The Lips

Step 9: A signature red lip is an ideal fit for this sultry look. To fake the appearance of more voluptuous lips overline your pout with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in 08C – Red, then fill in the rest of your lips.

Step 10: Last but certainly not least, apply the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Metallic Matte Liquid Lip in Warm Pink 201 to the centre of your lips. With a 3D, high-shine finish, this metal effect liquid lip gives the lips a just bitten, vampy look.
