Does summer in the UK catch you off guard every year? For me, it does. One moment I’m complaining about it being rainy and cold then suddenly – it’s boiling!
This means that every year my legs aren’t prepared for their summer debut in a dress or a skirt. However, this doesn’t mean I don’t wear them. I’ve learnt a fair few tips from my last-minute leg prep sessions and now I’m a seasoned pro. All it takes is know-how and few staple products on hand. If you want smooth bronzed legs at a moment’s notice, read on…
1. For The Times You Haven’t Prepared For…
If you’re after extra smooth pins you’re proud to show off this summer, there’s no better product to have in your beauty arsenal than Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Riche Oil Spray. If you’re an avid reader of this Escentual blog you’ll probably be familiar with this oil as we love it that much. A richer version than the original Huile Prodigieuse formula, the oil is great for caring for dry, sensitive skin just after shaving or exfoliation due to its ultra-concentrated 98% natural blend of 7 botanical oils.
How could I not mention the smell? It’s delicious. One word, summer; orange blossom, magnolia and vanilla all come together in a delightful sweet cloud. For the finish, imagine celebrities on the red carpet when their legs look sleek and shiny, and kinda look so good that it doesn’t look real. My theory is that they’ve prepared their legs using Nuxe oil because it looks just like that. Summer pins are in the bag with this one!
Note: This dry oil is multipurpose and can be used on your hair, face and all over your body, the uses are endless!
Top tip: Use the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or for a high-shine finish and subtle glow.

2. When There’s A Date In Your Diary…
Legs are notorious for being the hardest area of your body to tan because the skin is thicker, so they tend to be the last ones to bronze. But it’s not a problem when you have Nuxe Sun Hydrating Enhancing Self Tan to help you fake it. The instant bronzing gel leaves pins golden and glistening, and of course summer-ready. As you’d expect from Nuxe, there’s none of the traditional artificial tanning smell that tan addicts like me know all too well. Instead, orange, tiare flowers and coconut notes make applying your self-tan a trip to a tropical beach.
Although I love looking tanned, I’m not prepared to just put just anything on my legs; it has to be good for my skin and full of natural ingredients. The Sun Hydrating Enhancing Self Tan is no exception to the rule; it’s made with a concentration of 92% natural ingredients that ensure legs don’t become dry or itchy after application and is so gentle that it can even be applied to your face and rest of your body for an all-over, even glow.

3. The All-Year-Round Essential
Exfoliate, exfoliate and exfoliate some more! For anyone who’s looking for smooth pins, exfoliation is key. One sure-fire way to achieve this is with Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub; it buffs, smooths and scrubs away ingrown hairs and flaky patches – it’s a dream!
Its thick creamy paste is tough enough to shift rough skin around the knees and ankles where skin may be harder and dryer; but, that’s not to say it isn’t gentle. The smoothing natural bamboo and moisturising shea butter are suitable even for sensitive and dry skin types. You only need to use a little bit to get the full results of this formula, so it’s definitely an investment that you’ll go back to all summer. Spot the application if you’re in a rush and want to only target your legs. or take your time and scrub from head-to-toe to feel as smooth as (if not smoother than) a dolphin.
Top tip: Apply the scrub to clean, dry skin before getting in the shower; this will give you a smoother finish.
