Clarins Instant Concealer Review

Clarins Instant Concealer Review

If you were a fan of the best-selling Clarins Instant Concealer, then you’ll be glad to know that Clarins have granted your wishes and relaunched the fan-favourite. Yep, you heard me: the Instant Concealer is back for 2022!

If you missed out on trying the beloved under-eye concealer the first time around, you’ve come to the right place. I’ll be recapping the beauty classic here with my tried-and-tested Clarins Instant Concealer review…

The Most Important Thing About The Clarins Instant Concealer Is…

The Instant Concealer is a quick-fix solution to puffy eyes and dark circles. It’s a fatigue-fighting, skin-smoothing and hydrating concealer for the eyes, which works to correct and conceal. In short: it’ll help you fake your way to a well-rested look.

What Does It Look Like On?

The Instant Concealer minimises the intensity of dark circles by correcting the under-eye area for a bright, refreshed finish. In the past, I’ve found that under-eye concealers aren’t cutting it when it comes to my dark circles, but I was very impressed with this long-lasting formula.

Clarins’ concealer has a fluid texture that blends flawlessly across the eye contour for day-long crease-free coverage. I also think it’s pretty buildable too. You can transform a natural daytime look into a fuller coverage nighttime finish by simply dabbing a little more on top.

The only drawback is the shade offering is limited, so it doesn’t, unfortunately, cater to all skin tones.

Keen to know what it looks like in the flesh? I’ve applied shade 2 just to my right eye (the eye with the concealer tube next to it) to show how it reduces the purple tones of my dark circles..

You Will Love This If…

If you struggle to get your recommended eight hours, then you can treat Clarins Instant Concealer as your secret weapon for masking signs of fatigue.

Hero Ingredients:

As you’d expect from a Clarins makeup product, the Instant Concealer is more than just makeup; it’s also packed with skin-caring ingredients. While correcting and brightening the under-eye, the liquid concealer hydrates and soothes the delicate eye contour using aloe vera, while green coffee extract visibly brightens and refreshes the under-eye area, reducing the appearance of puffiness. The ‘makeup’ bits of it – including colour pigments and an innovative Light-Optimising complex to mask dark circles.

What Does It Feel Like?

It has a lightweight fluid texture. It reminds me of the Clarins Everlasting Matte Foundation in terms of its texture, thickness and finish, so if you like that, I think you’ll also enjoy this. But most importantly, I put this to the test for a whole day, and I completely forgot I had it on. It’s that lightweight.

What Does It Smell Like?

The concealer has no scent.

How Do You Use The Product?

Squeeze a small amount of the Clarins concealer onto your fingertip (or back of the hand if you’re using a brush – I’d recommend the Clarins Blending Brush, if so). Then, apply under the eye, starting at the inner corner and working outward. Use your ring finger or brush to blend it in gently.

Not sure how to pick the shade for you? For this Clarins concealer, you’ll want to choose the shade that looks closest to your natural skin tone (don’t be tempted to go light).

What’s Special About The Design?

It features a slim tube topped with a shiny gold cap for a touch of Clarins luxury. The nozzle is very slim, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally squeezing too much out and wasting it.
