Spring Fragrances 2021 Escentual.com

To me, the first signs of spring are always the arrival of the blooming fresh flowers and brightly-coloured buds. The warmer days and bright blue skies – met with that delicious crisp air – never fail to boost my mood, so I’ve compiled some of my favourite new spring perfumes that capture that fresh and positive spring feeling.

Read on to find which new spring fragrance is for you, and why I’m obsessed with these latest perfume releases…

1. If You Love Rosy Perfumes…

New Spring Fragrances: Paco Rabanne Olympea Blossom Eau de Parfum

I was particularly excited about this launch of Paco Rabanne Olympea Blossom; the original Olympea is my signature scent, and I even wore it to my Escentual interview! This is less salty than the original and boasts a more fruity tone that remains sultry and sensual.

What does it smell like?

The bold and fresh scent is spring in a bottle; the crispness of fresh-cut roses is enhanced by the alluring spice of pink pepper. At its heart lies a mouthwatering blend of blackcurrant and frosted pear sorbet, which is crisp and refreshing. This sweetness offers a full-bodied effervescence to the scent that’s like biting into a juicy piece of cold fruit. The base of cosy vanilla and cashmere woods echo the sultry and smooth creaminess of its predecessor and lingers on the skin for hours – I spritzed this first thing and could still smell a warm and floral muskiness before my evening shower.

This is a sophisticated and elegant spring fragrance that’s fresh and sweet, yet remains alluring and sensual. It could just as easily be worn in the daytime on a walk through the park as it could on a big date night in the evening.

2. If You Love Fresh Floral Perfumes…

New Spring Fragrances: Marc Jacobs Daisy Spring Collection

The Daisy Spring Collection is a fresh and green celebration! I’ve been a fan of the Daisy collection since my dad bought me a bottle of Daisy Eau So Fresh for Christmas when I was about 16 – I remember I felt so grown up! What I love about the Daisy perfume range is that it offers that sophisticated feel to a younger customer, but retains that playful youthfulness when you wear it as an adult.

What does it smell like?

The Daisy Spring features a trio of scents that all differ slightly from their predecessors but have the same sparkling floral vibe that’s reminiscent of walking through a bouquet filled meadow of cut grass and blooming flowers.

Daisy Spring Eau de Toilette has a hint of warm spice sprinkled into the greenery as it combines a burst of delicate pink rosebuds with scatterings of spicy cardamom. Daisy Eau so Fresh Spring is the greenest of the bunch; it smells like the drops of dew sat atop a crisp leaf at dawn. It has a hint of bitterness with pink pepper, but remains fresh and innocent as the delicate petals of green tea blossom meet the earthiness of matcha tea accord. The final offering of Daisy Love Spring is a touch more textured as it has a creamy fig milk backdrop which adds a creamy essence. Pink peony petals burst through the scent while fruity fig gives it an undeniably sweeter edge.

The green bottles are decorated with oversized pink and green flowers. I know you shouldn’t buy a fragrance just for the bottle alone, but when they look this pretty, you wouldn’t be blamed for it! Luckily, the aromas are just as sweet and tempting.

3. If You Love Sunny Perfumes…

New Spring Fragrances: Lancome La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal

The Lancome La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal is a luminous and joy-boosting scent that radiates with positive energy and will put a spring in your step and a smile on your face every time you spritz it! This solar fragrance blends warm and happy facets of florals and invigorating citrus oils with sunny coconut for a scent that’s reminiscent of sipping a creamy cocktail on a beach.

What does it smell like?

The Soleil Cristal Eau de Parfum is like a hybrid between a pina colada and a bouquet of fresh flowers wrapped up in a sunny halo of warmth.

The zesty opening of tangy bergamot and mandarin oils are enhanced by the powdery essence of iris flower, while the heat of pink pepper oil gives the scent a sharpness. Floral and fruity collide as sunny coconut meets delicate orange blossom, ylang-ylang and jasmine sambac absolutes for a tropical floral tone that makes your mind think of blooming flowers floating on a sky-blue sea. The base of patchouli oil and sunkissed vanilla offers a cosy and earthy edge to this effervescent scent that’s truly addictive.

4. If You Love Fruity Perfumes…

New Spring Fragrances: Jimmy Choo I Want Choo Eau de Parfum

Jimmy Choo I Want Choo is a fun, fruity and flirty number that perfectly captures the buzz of spring. It reminds me of sipping a peach bellini in the sun while surrounded by white petal blossoms.

What does it smell like?

The uplifting scent opens with a sparkling blend of mandarin juice and velvety peach for a fuzzy and joyful start, before the addictive and heady notes of jasmine and red spider lily take centre stage. These floral notes add an elegant twist that balances the sweetness of the fruits expertly, before the alluring and sophisticated gourmand base offer a creamy edge. Cosy vanilla and warm benzoin offer a rich warmth to the aroma that’s sweet and addictive.

I love the way this perfume plays with dualities; it is both sweet and innocent yet sexy and elegant. The fizzy quality of the scent is balanced by the creamy warmth of vanilla, which really comes to life in the dry down.

5. If You Love White Floral Perfumes…

New Spring Fragrances: Philosophy Amazing Grace Jasmine Eau de Toilette

Philosophy Amazing Grace Jasmine is an easy-to-wear and uplifting floral fragrance that is a true celebration of bursting spring petals.

What does it smell like?

What excites me the most about this Amazing Grace flanker is the inclusion of coconut water as it gives a slight tropical edge to this bouquet-filled scent. It’s definitely sweeter than the original but retains the clean, powdery and fresh feel. It opens with juicy bergamot, neroli and tart lemon for a tangy and citrusy start, before the graceful heart of feminine jasmine shines through. The delicate petals are enhanced with the feminine facets of rose and lily of the valley for a crisp floral heart, before splashes of creamy coconut water add a milky sweetness. The sensual musk base blend offers an intimate warmth that keeps this scent sophisticated and traditional.
