April Favourites: Our 30-Day Update

1. Antipodes Diem Vitamin C Water Cream

What Keavy thought:

I got on really well with this I didn’t use it religiously every night because I have sensitive skin, it has a high level of vitamin C in it and I went a bit more low key I went one every other day. My skin look a lot brighter after using it, but I will also say it feels super hydrated. and plump too. I had a good experience!

What Maya thought:

I’ll definitely be using this stuff daily. The smell is amazing when you put it on your face, it’s like silky touch to your skin. It gives you straight away very nice freshness. It’s like waking up in the morning with a nice smell. It’s gorgeous and you feel like you are a millionaire after touching your skin.

What Hannah thought:

So I found with Antipodes it’s been really brightening and I’ve been really impressed by how well it has worked on my dark spots. I had a couple up by my eyebrow it’s very faded away and my skin texture feels, very smooth too.

2. Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

What Hannah thought:

So I’ve been loving the lip oils. I think it’s my most complimented lip look. I’ve got the shade plum on now. Which looks a lot different on me than you might expect. So this is a couple of layers, and it’s a bit darker, which I love. For a full glam look. Or you can just do, like, a sheer wash of colour. Which I wasn’t expecting, but it’s a really nice touch. And honey smells amazing. And I love on top of lipstick.

What Kate thought:

The main thing, which has surprised me a lot by actually trying them consistently, is how nourishing they are. I feel like even if I just apply them for a little bit, like once a day, they really leave my lips feeling soft. The other thing which I quite like, just how buildable they are. I think this one’s my favourite of the two shades. I love it, a lot. That’s the one I’m wearing today, which is apricot. Definitely would re-buy them. But I’m very tempted seeing Hannah wearing the plum version to go with that one next.

What Keavy thought:

Just to try something new, I chose the Clarins Lip Oil in shade 04 pitaya but I really love this lip oil I’m wearing it now, I feel like a little goes a long way. Honestly. I’ve been applying it by the desk nonstop, like every day. So, you know, it does last a long time. It makes your lips look really plump and I think this shade suits my lip colour.

What Zainab thought:

Cherry looks a bit more neutral on me, but I like it because it’s just that little tint of red and I’ve been wearing that quite a lot as well. And then with Honey, I’ve been using that over my usual lipstick, and I love it because it’s like a gloss without stickiness and then it’s got the comfort of a lip balm as well.

What Rosa thought:

I was quite surprised. It’s a nice one. It’s a nice one. It’s a lovely colour. It did exactly what I wanted to do, which kind of matches my natural lip colour. But just gives it really nice glow to it. I’d say it’s more of a syrupy texture going like an oily texture. I’ve been using it every day as it’s been really interesting to try a completely different brand and kind of, see the benefits of it.

What Maya thought:

Its smells like raspberry. It tastes like raspberry, and it’s a little bit of luxury on a daily basis. It’s not too heavy, especially for a person who’s not using lipstick I love it. I have had a lot of compliments from it.

What Jade thought:

I wear a lot of nude and brown shade lipsticks, so this has been a perfect addition on top of that, I use the strawberry one as an overnight mask and it’s made my lips feel really nourished and actually I had quite dry lips. I didn’t think I did before so when I wake up, they’re not as dry. I really want to try other shades. I’ve got my eye on plum next.

What Darcey thought:

My favourite part about trying the Clarins Lip Oil. Is the nice, red juicy look it gives your lips. I do find that I have to use a lip balm underneath just because I have more sensitive lips, but that’s not too much hassle. So I’ve been using the lip comfort oil and I’ve really enjoyed it.

What Ceryn thought:

So I’ve been using the lip comfort oil and I’ve really enjoyed it. I think it’s the perfect choice for someone who doesn’t want lip gloss and wants that kind of sheen without all of the tackiness. I really enjoyed wearing it. I haven’t been wearing it every day because I do struggle with dry lips. However, my lips are really dry today. As you can see, it doesn’t really show the chapped lips or any flakiness. I think ut actually makes it look really good. I chose the colour chocolate, which I think a lot of people were scared of, but I think it looks really lovely on the lips and also works really well over a nude lipstick as well.

What Beth thought:

I’ve really enjoyed using Clarins Lip Oil I got the shade chocolate and I found that it’s a really nice match to my natural lip colour and it just really enhances the pigment that’s already there. I really enjoy the plumping effect that it seems to have. It’s got a really nice glow and it smells really good.

What Chelsey thought:

My lip oil of choice was chocolate. I picked it because it’s a brand new shade. I love this throughout the day, it’s given that tiny tint that I’ve really enjoyed. I love the taste, I’m enjoying the texture. This is going to be empty soon!

What Simona thought:

I love it! It’s the colour that I usually wear. I usually go for in matte lipsticks. But, I find these top of my lipsticks – amazing. About one quarter I’ve used. Yeah, but as I said, I’m really happy with it.

3. Klorane Cupuacu Hair Care

What Darcey thought:

My favourite part about trying this range was the really nice cocoa butter smell. I really like the mask. It’s really good for my split ends. It’s been making them very soft by using a couple of times a week. I found that this shampoo and conditioner was a bit too moisturizing for my hair type, but I definitely will go back to my Mango. Because I’ve always loved that one. My mum did try it and she has quite damaged bleached hair. So I think I’ll give it to her as she really enjoyed her results afterwards.

Klorane Cupuacu

What Rosa thought:

This was fantastic. I wasn’t expecting it, but I have a fresh wash on me today and it just looks beautiful. A lot of conditioners or shampoos. What they will do is, they will give my hair no grip, no definition to the curls, and it will just get frizzy and big. And that’s not why I want what the Klorane range does is kind of it grips everything together, makes the curls more condensed and makes it feel healthier as well. It can get incredibly, incredibly dry with the Welsh water. Sometimes I need something that’s just going to completely soften it. This is the one.

What Simona thought:

I love it! It actually does do the job of strengthening the hair. I find myself not using the straighteners that much. I’m in love with it. I’ll carry on using it, but I think it will be more like a seasonal like I’m thinking winter weather, when humidity when you need that extra boost. For summer I will keep the mango one which is for dry hair and for winter I’ll switch to this one which works even better.

What Maya thought:

After a month of trying the Klorane products for curly and dry hair, what I definitely can say is the amazing smell and amazing texture of the mask and conditioner when you’re washing the hair IS AMAZING. But in my opinion, this product is too rich, too heavy for my hair. I don’t have probably not enough curly hair to use those products. That mango Klorane range will be much better for me.

4. Dermalogica Skin Health Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist

What Ceryn thought:

I found that it’s made quite a lot of difference to my skin since I’ve been using it. My skin’s definitely been less dry. More even! I haven’t had. (I don’t think) I’ve had a single spot? Since I’ve been using it.  So I don’t know if it’s just because my skin barrier is feeling healthy, but I really enjoy using it. It is also really lovely to use and quite relaxing because it smells like rose to me. I really think I couldn’t live without it now. I use it every morning and night and I’ll definitely repurchase it.

What Chelsey thought:

Where do I start with this product? I’ve had so much fun (by accident) discovering different ways to use it. It’s only boosted and so given me more and made me happy with my skin. I’m scared to stop using it! I’m down to here. What’s going to happen? I’m going to have to repurchase!

What Kate thought:

I’ve really loved trying the Dermalogica spray out it’s really hydrating. And so I love how my skin looks afterwards. And another thing which I wasn’t necessarily expecting was how glowy my skin looked. even if I’ve just sprayed this on like No moisturizer looks really hydrating definitely buy it again my skin just looks better with it.

What Keavy thought:

I’m a massive fan of Dermalogica anyway I knew I was going to get on well with this face mist. I have to say I’ve really loved using it and I use it like it’s such an easy, lazy girl skincare step. When I can’t be bothered to put my serum on, I just pack on the hyaluronic ceramide mist It’s honestly the best. I’ve got really dry skin anyway, so I found this really good for my skin type. My skin looks extra plump after using it.

5. La Roche-Posay Pure Niacinamide 10 Serum

What Hannah thought:

So the niacinamide I’ve been so impressed by, it’s great for my skin texture and I really feel like my forehead feels a lot smoother. I did get a tip from Darcey actually, that the pipette isn’t the easiest thing to use, so I’ve just been pouring out onto my fingertips. If you do have sensitive eyes, just be a bit careful when you’re putting it on. Don’t get too close Because the smell can sometimes make them water a bit, but other than that, it’s fantastic.

What Zainab thought:

So I’ve been using this for about a month now, and I found that if fits really easily into my routine with my other products, it doesn’t interfere with anything I’ve noticed my skin is a lot brighter, when I wake up, it’s a lot smoother it gets rid of bumps, I will definitely continue to use this. To see over the long term.

What Beth thought:

I never tried niacinamide before because it’s not something that’s come up on my usual quest for skincare. This has been really, really nice for healing the dark spots that get left behind. After that, the acne has started to clear but still has some healing to do. It smells really nice. It’s really sort of sweet, mild and soapy and fresh. I would say the texture as it goes on feels really luxurious.

What Darcey thought:

I’ve loved trying the La Roche niacinamide serum I’ve really noticed a difference. In how bright my skin is it’s got rid of those dull spots of pigmentation. I’ve had a lot of compliments that my skin is a lot more glowy, especially as it’s a hyaluronic base. The pipette can sometimes be problematic, so I have been putting it on as more of a swoosh than a squeeze. It works just as well.
